A Lash Lift is a chemical solution that is safe to use. It’s essentially a lash perm that gives your lashes a natural curl and lifts for dramatic effects. Everyone’s lashes are of various lengths and grow in different directions. Some lashes grow straight out, while others grow down. The lash lift procedure results in a natural lash swoop that lasts for several weeks.

You shouldn’t shower immediately, but if you must shower on the same day of lash lift, make sure it is short and that your bath water doesn’t touch that zone. Also, ensure that the water is not too hot.

If you want a long shower or swim, then you would have to wait for 48 hours.

What is the process for a lash lift?

Step 1: Patch test

First, a patch test is carried out 24-48 hours before the lash lift to know if you are allergic to the lash lift solution.  So, a few drops of the solution is dropped beside your ear or any part of your skin. If there is any redness, swelling, or reaction, that means you are allergic to it. But if nothing happens, that means you are not allergic to it, and you can use the lash lift solution.

Step 2: Cleaning

Next, your technician will prepare you for the lash lift. He will use a protein remover solution to clean your eyelids, lashes, face from any make-up, oil, or product.

Step 3: Silicone shield

Your lash lift technician will apply a shaped silicone shield, “not perm rod,” around your eye. This stage is necessary to ensure that all the products used in the treatment do not touch your sensitive eye. Also, your technician will cover the lower lid lashes to prevent any hazardous situation.

Note that if the incorrect size of silicone rod is used for the procedure, it will cause over curled lashes.

Step 4: Curling rod or shield

If you have long natural lashes, your technician will use the larger shield for a slight lift. If your lashes are just medium, your technician will use a medium-size shield. It will give it an intense lift without being curled. If your lashes are small or you want to create a very permed look, your technician will use the small size shield.

Step 5: Bonding Gel

Your technician will use the bonding gel to tack back the lashes onto the shield upwards gently. He will apply an eye-safe adhesive to the top of the pad and brush your lashes afterward. It will give it length and volume.

Step6: Lifting lotion or balm

A lifting lotion, balm, or solution is applied to the lashes. The solution is what helps to make your hair bonds soft. It will break down the disulfide bonds. It will allow the lashes to mold around the curling rod.

Step 6: The Fixing lotion

Next, your technician applies a fixing lotion. It will repair broken bonds to blend, making use of the shield curl as a guideline.

Step7: Tinting

This stage is optional for you if you don’t want to tint after lash lifting.

But, if you want to tint your lashes to enhance the color, you can choose any tint color you desire.

Step 8: The Nourishing Solution

The last step in the lash lift process is the “Nourishing solution.” It will renourish your lashes and remove any remains of dye or lotions. Your lashes would be so striking.
